Microsoft aims Windows 7 for 2009 holiday season

Is it just me that's a little excited about a new version of Windows? Looks to have some more nifty features and, most importantly, tackles performance.

I've been running Vista quite happily for some time after switching back from OS X, so my suspicion with the people that have been unhappy with it is that they've incompatible hardware or just not not enough grunt (I'm running 64-bit Ultimate on a Mac Pro with 2 x Dual Core 2.66Ghz Xeons and 4Gb of RAM, hardware that wasn't designed for it but runs it without a problem).

The only issues I've had have been driver or software related, mainly because I went with 64-bit (and the makers haven't bothered to update them).

I still get the occasional pull for a Mac, they just make great machines, can't fault their hardware, I might buy a Mac Mini (although I'll wait for the possible update looking at recent news), but generally I know I'm a Windows guy, so roll on Windows 7.
