Ground Force

The main reason for my recent trip to Edinburgh was simple – we were appearing on the BBC's Ground Force program and it was my job to get the old man away from the house and then return him on cue.

For those who don't know the program, basically, you contact them and ask them to makeover your garden as a surprise for one of the household, you then get that person out of the way and in two days the team transform your garden in time for the unknowing party to walk in and be stunned.

I had the easy part it seems, all I had to do was keep my head together and lie for three days or so, the others helped the team and did the hard part. They were all keen to point out, however, that Charlie, Tommy and the others all worked flat out on it, no lazing about when then cameras were off.

It was an interesting experience, and strangely normal to hang out with people you see on the telly in our back garden once the cameras were off, it didn't seem odd at all. I managed to grab some pictures and a before and after of the garden:
